The list of items is clearly outlined on the Republic Services brochure and the City of Green web site. Please stick to the list. Examples of items that are NOT Recyclable are appliances, metal blinds and children’s toys which mistakenly get placed in the cart, causing contaminants.
No. As a residential property in Green, property owners are required to use the same trash provider. In 2003, City Council passed an ordinance (10-R56) that required the City administration to obtain the best value for Green residential trash removal that would also minimize congestion and wear and tear on our streets related to multiple trash removal providers. To obtain the best value, the City engaged in a competitive bidding process. Republic was the lowest and best bid following this process.
Residents with UNLIMITED service may order additional carts through Republic after March 25 trash or recycle carts are $3 each month.
