City of Green Offers Free Fitness-in-the-Park throughout the Summer
Green, OH – The City of Green is once again partnering with local fitness providers to offer a variety of FREE fitness classes throughout the summer at Central Park, 1795 Steese Road.
YOGA offered by Cleveland Clinic Akron General Lifestyles
Wednesdays and Saturdays, June 7 – September 16
Beginning June 7, yoga instructors from the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Lifestyles will offer FREE yoga on Wednesday and Saturday mornings at 9 am in the Central Park Amphitheater. The classes are geared for adults and teens and all yoga practice levels. Participants should bring a yoga mat and water.
New Classes this Summer: Qigong and Tai Chi
Led by certified instructor Ralph Lorenz, Qigong and Tai Chi are designed for beginners to these practices.
Qigong
Wednesdays, June 7, June 14 and June 21 @ 10 am
Qigong, pronounced “chee gong”, is a gentle exercise that incorporates movements, breathe, strengthening and stretching.
Tai Chi
Saturdays, June 10, June 17, and June 24 @ 10 am
Tai Chi is a form of Chinese martial arts popular for its health benefits, it is a slow and graceful form of exercise that can be done anywhere, at any time. There are many different styles of Tai Chi, but the basic moves share common principles.
COREfit
Monday, July 10 and Monday, August 21 @ 9 am
COREFIT is 45-minute, full-body strength and cardio conditioning workout, lead by ACE Personal and Group Trainer Cory Kessler. This class is appropriate for all levels and no experience is necessary. All are welcome!
No registration is required. Classes are typically cancelled for inclement weather (significant rain or storms). Participants should arrive early to their first class of the season to sign a participant waiver.
