City of Green Fire Division Promotes Eight to Leadership Roles

Green, OH – Green Mayor Gerard Neugebauer and Green Fire Chief Jeff Funai are pleased to announce the following promotions to leadership roles within the City of Green Fire Division. 

Joshua Compton, Kristopher Gent, and Jason Marzilli are promoted, effective January 1, 2023, from Captain to Battalion Chief.  The role of Battalion Chief is to oversee the daily activity of providing safety services for the City of Green.   This is a new position at the City of Green as of January 1, 2023.

Promoted to Captain from Lieutenant are Matthew Craddock, Keith Gieger and Michael Mohr. The role of Captain is the second in command under the Battalion Chief overseeing daily fire and emergency medical service activity.  

Promoted to Lieutenant, effective May 23, 2023, are Brian Lloyd and Drew Marchand. The role of Lieutenant is to supervise the delivery of service at the point of care.  At the City of Green, our crews are made up of two firemedics and one lieutenant, who travels to an emergency scene separately to serve as an additional resource and manage the scene.

“It is a pleasure to see these safety professionals grow and advance in their fire careers,” said Fire Chief Jeff Funai.  “The level of professionalism each of them portrays is a testament to our collective commitment to providing the best safety services possible to the residents of Green.” 

 The Green Fire Division serves the community of Green 24/7 from three fire stations with four EMS crews under the medical direction of Dr. Ross Campensa and leadership of Fire Chief Jeff Funai.   Annually, the Green Fire Division responses to over 5,100 calls for service each year with approximately 80% of the calls for emergency medical services.  

The Green Fire Division is currently in the process of hiring five firemedics.
