GREEN, OH -- The City of Green’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee meets on Saturday, January 28 at 9 a.m. at the Central Administration Building, 1755 Town Park Blvd. Guest Speaker Derek Farmer, an American lawyer, will share his story of perseverance.  The meeting is open to all who wish to attend.

Derek Farmer is an American lawyer who went through the highs and lows of life. Derek was sent to prison at 17 years old. While in prison, Derek began to study history, law, and behavioral sciences. Upon his parole, Derek attended the University of Akron School of Law where he graduated from. Soon after passing the bar test in 1999, he began his practice in civil rights and criminal defense in Cincinnati, Ohio.

With his past he struggled to practice in certain courtrooms, but that did not stop him from being a lawyer. Derek continues to practice law and is now concentrating on letting the youth know that there is no excuse for failure, and no matter where you come from – “With God All Things Are Possible.”
