Parker's Trail Challenge Kicks off on September 10 at The Mindfulness Walk Dedication Event
GREEN, Ohio – Join the community of Green to pause, reflect, and breathe on Saturday, September 10 at 10 a.m. at Southgate Park for the dedication of Green’s Mindful Walk to kick off our third annual Parker’s Trail Challenge. Then from September 10 through October 28, visit seven more designated trails within the City of Green to complete the third annual Parker’s Trail Challenge.
Residents and nonresidents who choose to participate can earn rewards by completing the eight predetermined challenge trails. Selected trails are well maintained, easily accessible, and range from .5 miles to 3.1 miles in length.
This year’s challenge trails will be at Boettler Park, Southgate Way and Bluebird Trail, Central Park, Ariss Park, Knapp Recreation Area Trail, Nimisila Trail, The Chapel Walking Trail.
Participants who complete the challenge are eligible to receive a hiking backpack and a challenge completion patch to be displayed on your backpack. Participants who complete the challenge yearly will receive a new patch each year. Backpacks are free but limited to one per family. Additional backpacks may be purchased for $25 each.
To claim a reward, please print and fill out the challenge brochure found at cityofgreen.org/TrailChallenge. Competition forms must be turned in by end of day October 28.
