[ARCHIVED] Micro Surfacing Work to Begin in August

Under ConstructionGRAPHIC

GREEN, OH – The City of Green's contractor, Strawser Construction. will begin Micro Surfacing work the first week of August, taking approximately one week to complete. The Engineering Department will be distributing a flier of what to expect during the process, and the contractor will be providing their own flier with contact information 48 hours in advance to those who reside near the micro surfacing areas.

During this treatment, all cross streets will be closed to non-emergency personnel for approximately 20-30 minutes after the machine passes that location. The intent is to maintain traffic in one direction on most streets while working on the opposite side, then traffic will switch to the opposite side. On streets with multi-lane traffic (in one direction) the contractor intends to operate under flaggers.

Once the product is partially cured, a sand-like material will be applied to the pavement to assist traffic across the fresh pavement. Generally, the curing process is about one hour, however with the size and rate of the slow-moving vehicle, the lanes may be closed longer than one hour.

The contractor’s flier will include contact information of the project superintendent and the description of the process, should residents need immediate assistance while work is taking place. Such as, getting in or out of their Driveways.
