City of Green Offers an Array of Activities for Green Seniors (50+)

GREEN, OH – This fall the City of Green is offering many new programs and special events for Green seniors and active adults (50+). Look forward to events including bus trips, monthly lunches, game night, the annual City of Green Senior Expo and Senior Holiday Brunch, and programs including fitness classes, greeting card class, drawing class, and fall gardening bed clean-up! 

Residents of Green over the age of 50 may participate in any of these activities! Please call or email the Parks department with any questions or to register, 330-896-6621 or parks@cityofgreen.org. Online registration is also available at cityofgreen.org/register

Knit for the Needy every Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the John Torok Community/Senior Center, 4224 Massillon Road.  All are welcome!

Fitness Classes
Weekly fitness classes are offered to the Green Active Adults at the John Torok Community and Senior Center, 4224 Massillon Road. Any adult in Green over 50 years old may participate in our FREE toning, yoga, and/or self-defense classes. Registration not required. 

Fitness Schedule:

Mondays @ 1:00 p.m. – Toning

Tuesdays @ 10:00 a.m. – Vinyasa Yoga

Wednesdays @ 8:30 a.m. – Toning

Thursdays @ 9:00 a.m. – Self Defense

Thursdays @ 10:00 a.m. – Yoga

4-Week Drawing and Sketching Class: Wednesdays @ 1 pm, (9/7, 9/14, 9/21, 9/28)

Monthly Lunch at Crazy Chicken: Tuesday, September 6 @ 11:30 am

Monthly lunch payment and transportation are the responsibility of the attendee, please register by calling the Parks Department at 330-896-6621.

Greeting Card Class: Wednesday, September 7 @ 10 am

 $10/person (time change for this class only). Learn to create your own greeting cards for friends and family! John Torok Community and Senior Center, 4224 Massillon Rd.

Senior Expo: Thursday, September 8 @ 10 am

Please join us for our 4th annual Senior Expo, sponsored by Summa Health! This is a great way for seniors to discover services and opportunities available to them in the area by meeting with a variety of local businesses, service providers, and other vendors who cater directly to seniors.  Light refreshments will be available for guests and vendors. We will also be giving away prizes throughout the event (must be present to win). Raintree Golf and Event Center, 4350 Mayfair Road.

Game Day: Thursday, September 8 @ 1 pm

Play games and socialize!  Games will be provided by the City of Green, the primary game being Mexican Train Dominoes. However, other games will be available to play!  Attendees are encouraged to bring a covered dish or snack to share. John Torok Community and Senior Center, 4224 Massillon Rd. No registration required.

Bus Trip: Amish Country Trip Thursday, September 15

Smucker’s, The Barn, and Lehman’s Hardware, $40/person, pick-up at Queen of Heaven, 1800 Steese Road, 9:00 a.m. departure.  Call or register for this trip online.

Fall Gardening Bed Clean-up: Thursday, September 15 @ 6:00 p.m.

Presented by the Green Thumbs of Green. John Torok Community and Senior Center, 4224 Massillon Rd. No fee or registration required. 

Game Day: Thursday, September 22 @ 1 pm
