Eight Restaurant, Eight Weeks, Eight Chances to Win
City of Green Sponsors Good Eats Raffle to Encourage Residents to Support Businesses

GREEN, Ohio – The City of Green wants residents and visitors to know that even during construction, it is easier than ever to drive and access restaurants and businesses on Massillon Road North. In fact, the next eight weeks are a perfect time to dine in, pick up or get dessert.  In recognition of the infrastructure improvement project, the City of Green has partnered with the eight restaurants and sweet treat destinations along the Massillon Road North project corridor to encourage the community to support these businesses.

First, you definitely will save. Through August 6, the eight restaurants are offering coupons and special deals that are downloadable at www.cityofgreen.org/save.

Then, you potentially can win. The City of Green is raffling eight $100 gift cards––one for each of the eight restaurants located between the Raber Road and Stein Road roundabouts along Massillon Road.  A new $100 gift card up for grabs every week from June 18 through August 6.

There is no purchase necessary to enter the raffle. Simply go to www.cityofgreen.org/save to register. Only one entry per email address. Winners will be required to pick up their prize at the City of Green’s Central Administration Building during regular business hours.

“Massillon Road is open and it’s now easier than ever to access these businesses because of the new lane configurations,” said Valerie Wolford, communications manager for the city of Green. “We hope this program encourages residents to visit their favorite restaurants in the corridor.”

Currently in its second season, construction is occurring from Stein Road north to the intersection of Massillon Road and SR619.  Through early July, the east leg of SR619 is closed for the construction of the roundabout at SR619 and Massillon. Once the east leg is open, the west leg will close for 30 days.

“We appreciate the support our local businesses have given us as we improve this corridor,” said Gerard Neugebauer, mayor of the City of Green. “Promoting these businesses is a way to say thank you for dealing with the inconvenience construction causes at times.”

The restaurants located along Massillon Road North in Green include:

  • Zeppe’s Pizza
  • Handel’s Ice Cream
  • The Bistro of Green
  • Mr. Chengs Asian Bistro
  • Subway
  • SweetFrog
  • Gionino’s Pizzeria

Registration for the raffle begins June 7 at www.cityofgreen.org/save.  The first raffle will take place on June 18, then weekly thereafter.  For details and official rules, visit www.cityofgreen.org/save.  The prizes are being donated by Akhia Communications.
