Crisis Awareness Sunday 5.7.2023

About Crisis Awareness Sunday

The City of Green Drug Task Force partners with our faith community to rise together against drugs and alcohol as we present Crisis Awareness Sunday. On May 7, 2023 we will have a day of awareness, hope, and impact as an individual, a church, and a community. This event is hosted by Green churches and churches in surrounding communities.

Through this coordinated effort, the church leaders are raising awareness about the drug and alcohol epidemic that is becoming more and more prevalent in Northeast Ohio. The hope is to have open conversations about addiction in order to have productive advancement toward ending this epidemic.

The goal of this event is to destigmatize addiction and to point their congregation and community members to resources for help. This gives them a simple start that they can take immediately to combat prescription drug use.

Deterra Drug Deactivation System bags, provided by Summit County Community Partnership, will be given to attendees to encourage proper disposal of prescription medications. Receiving this free disposal bag will make it easier for individuals to clean out their medicine cabinets safely and will also limit/deter misuse of these drugs.

Together we can make a difference! Join the City of Green's Drug Task Force and the local faith community in rising together against drugs and alcohol through Crisis Awareness Sunday.
