The City will be releasing a Memorial Day recognition video on Friday, May 22 on Facebook, the City’s website and the City’s YouTube Channel. The video shares highlights from previous year’s parades, ceremonies, an address from Mayor Neugebauer, and messages from veterans living in our community.
Following the guidance of Summit County Public Health and the Ohio Department of Health, cancelled the traditional Memorial Day activities including the Pancake Breakfast, Parade, Ceremony, Car Show and Community Picnic. The City understands the importance of Memorial Day so we have created alternative activities to recognize and honor the meaning of the day.
Chalk the Walk
Residents are invited to Chalk the Walk along the traditional parade route from Massillon Road between Boettler Road to Steese Road anytime Saturday, May 23 through Monday, May 25 with patriotic drawings or messages thanking service members and heroes. Families must bring their own chalk and maintain proper physical distancing.
Memorial Day Coloring Page
The City has released a Memorial Day coloring page for children and families. Print or download the coloring page here (PDF). Families are invited to take a picture of their completed coloring pages and email them to email@example.com or share them with the City on our Facebook page. The City will share these with our local assisted living and nursing homes in Green to decorate and show appreciation for our veterans.
