New Stay at Home Order issued for All of Ohio

On April 2, 2020 Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jon Husted, and Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton, M.D. MPH, announced that Ohio will be under an additional "Stay at Home" order.

The new order will go into effect beginning Monday, April 6, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. and will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. on May 1, 2020, unless the order is rescinded or modified.

Storm Update: Thanks to Our Fire Division and Service Crews

Thank you to our Fire Division staff and service crews who worked throughout the night to open roads and maintain public safety. Thankfully there were no serious injuries. However, there were many trees downed and significant property damage in some areas of our community. Last night more than 25 roads were closed due to downed power lines and trees in the roadway.There are still many roads closed due to the storm.

Seniors Seek Assistance with Storm Cleanup: Volunteers Needed

We have received requests from seniors with storm damage seeking assistance with debris cleanup. If you have the ability, time, and perhaps a chainsaw, please contact our hotline at 330-896-6933 or emailing greentogether@cityofgreen.org.

Recycle Facility

City Recycle Center Open

8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday for Storm Debris

To assist residents who are cleaning up after last night’s storm, the City’s Recycle Center, 5383 Massillon Road, will be open Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

We will be collecting yard waste only. Proof of residency is required (driver’s license).

Please note that only one car is permitted into the Recycle at a time to ensure social distancing.

FREE UNTREATED MULCH is unavailable this week as our crews and equipment are busy with storm cleanup. Mulch will be available next week by appointment Monday, Wednesday or Friday, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. Call our Service Department at 330-896-6607 to schedule loading/pick-up time. More details.

Main Street Stormwater Work Delayed to April 13

Beginning Monday, April 13, South Main Street will be closed daily between West Nimisila and West Caston Road from 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. for stormwater repairs. Detours posted. This project was set to begin Thursday, April 9, but has been delayed due to storm cleanup.

The project in conjunction with the City of New Franklin is anticipated to be completed the week of April 20, weather permitting.

Volunteers Needed to Make Masks!

Donations May Be Dropped Off Monday - Friday, 1 p.m.- 3 p.m

The City has distributed more than 265 masks with requests for 450 more. To meet this demand, we are looking for more volunteers to make homemade masks. Thank you for all the donations!

*When dropping off masks, please drop in a note with your name, address and phone number. We are also accepting donations of fabric and/or elastic. If you are unable to get out to donate masks during these times, call us at 330-896-6933 and we will make arrangements to pick them up.

Request a mask. Residents may request a mask to help limit the spread of coronavirus. Please note masks are in high demand and will be distributed as available. They are NOT available for pick up at the Central Administration Building. Request a mask.
