Summer Day Camps
The City of Green Summer Day Camp programs are intended for children ages 7-12 years old. Each week of camp is a different theme which we will center our activities around. Each week will bring new, fun, and adventurous experiences for all of our campers!
Returning campers can register exclusively from Monday, February 3 through Friday, February 28. Beginning on, Monday, March 2, registration will be available online to the general public (returning campers and new campers). Sports Camp (June 8-12)
This week will be packed to the brim with sports. Some your child is sure to be familiar with, like basketball, kickball, baseball, and more. However, they’re will be some new and interesting sports introduced. We will also attend the Children’s Entertainment Series on Thursday.
Adventure Camp (June 15- 19)
Our adventure camps will feature everything from slack lining to rock climbing! We will be doing something fun, adventurous, or outdoorsy everyday! Campers will also get to attend the Children’s Entertainment Series on Thursday. On Friday, we will be taking a nature based field trip!
Cooking Camp (June 22-26)
Working together in small groups, the campers will learn to cook simple, everyday items, such as eggs, muffins, pizza, and more. Each day, the skill level will increase slightly as the campers learn new culinary skills. Kids will also be primed on kitchen and food safety! No lunches required this week, however, campers are encouraged to pack a snack! Please note that there are 2 sessions offered! We will be doing the same activities for each session, so please only sign up for one! No before or after care available this week.
Campers will be supervised closely by staff to ensure proper kitchen and food safety! Please make sure that campers are dressed to get messy each day this week.
Wet & Wild Camp (July 6-10)
The Wet & Wild Camp will be a great way for our campers to cool down from the summer heat! Campers will get soaked each day in activities such as water balloon and sponge games, a trip to the splash pad, and much more. Campers should wear a bathing suit each day this week. The campers will also go to the Children’s Entertainment Series on Thursday morning and take a special water-themed trip on Friday!
Mad Scientist Camp (July 13-17)
Campers will get to learn a little bit about science through fun and engaging experiments and demonstrations. We will also play science themed games which will better help their understanding of the principles presented. This is a very hands-on camp which has been a blast for years! Campers will also go to the Children’s Entertainment Series on Thursday morning. We will also take a special science themed field trip on Friday!
Fittest, Strongest, Faster Camp (July 20-24)
If your child is active, energetic, and tough, then this is definitely the camp for them! Each day we will be playing games to see who is the fittest, strongest, and fastest. Campers will get the opportunity to participate in activities from shows like Million Dollar Mile, The Titan Games, and more. While we test their strengths and abilities, campers will get the opportunity to learn new skills from guest instructors! This will truly be unlike any other week of camp we’ve ever had. Campers will also get the opportunity to take a break and attend the Children’s Entertainment Series on Thursday morning. We will also be taking a special field trip on Friday!
Camps are held at the John Torok Community & Senior Center (4224 Massillon Road) from 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m., Monday through Friday (unless otherwise noted).
Camps are $75.00 per week for residents and $100.00 per week for non-residents. You can register for the entire 6 weeks or for individual weeks of camp.
*Our one week of Cooking Camp will take place at the Green High School Consumer Science Room with one session at 9:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. and another session from 12:30p.m. to 3:30p.m. The cost of Cooking Camp is $50.00 per week for residents and $60.00 per week for non-residents.
There are also a limited number of before and after care spots available for most weeks of camp (no before or after care during the week of Cooking Camp). Before and after care goes from 8:00a.m. to 9:00a.m. and 3:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. Before and after care is $25.00 per week regardless of residency.
All camp staff members are inclusion trained though a partnership with Summit DD. This gives us the ability to better include all children into our camps! Staff are also trained in how to recognize and report child maltreatment by Summit County Children Services. Staff are also trained in first aid, CPR, and AED to ensure the utmost safety of the campers.
