ACTION REQUEST: Review Your FirstEnergy Bill

Posted: August 28, 2023

With the increased cost of electric energy, the City of Green has recently learned that some households in Green are not taking advantage of the city’s Electric Aggregation rate, which is one of the lowest in the area.

Because many of our neighboring communities also have aggregation programs with Energy Harbor, some households may not be receiving the City of Green rate and may have a higher rate in another aggregation program or remain with the utility at the higher utility rate.

We want our residents to be informed to get the best rate possible.  To ensure you are receiving the City of Green Energy Harbor aggregation rate, please take a moment to review your FirstEnergy bill.

  1. Check your FirstEnergy/Ohio Edison electric bill. How to read your bill.
  2. If you are on the Green aggregation rate, your kilowatt per hour (KWH) rate is 4.91 cents or .0491.
  3. If your KWH does not reflect the Green rate (4.91 cents or .0491), call Energy Harbor at 1-866-636-3749 and opt into the city of Green aggregation program or complete Energy Harbor online form. Confirm with the customer representative that you are a Green resident, not just your address/zip code.

Residents are not required to be in the aggregation program. At any time, residents may shop at energychoice.ohio.gov and select their own energy supplier.  Residents may opt into the Green aggregation at any time.
